JSI Workshop 2018:
Gravitational Wave Physics and Astronomy Workshop

December 1-4, 2018 -- College Park, Maryland

Registration and abstract submission are now open.  Note that registration and abstract submission are handled by the same web application, but you can register first and submit your abstract at a later time if you wish, using your Registration Code to re-enter the site.  You can also edit your abstract any time before the deadline.

Every participant is invited to submit an abstract to make a planned contribution to the workshop, in addition to participating in the moderated discussion periods.  When submitting an abstract by the regular deadline (October 31), you have three choices for your preferred contribution type: a talk, a poster, or planned verbal remarks during a topical session.  Given the workshop format, there will be a limited number of talks and we expect the posters to be a major part of the program; after the poster reception on the first evening, the posters will be on display in the space just outside the main meeting room, where coffee breaks will take place, through the end of the workshop.  Each poster presenter will also be able to give a short "sparkler talk" to advertise and tell the highlights of their poster.  The "remarks during topical session" contribution type is another way to fit into the program; the scientific organizing committee will assign these to the most relevant session, if possible, and the moderator of the session will be prepared to call on the presenter to make his/her remarks at an appropriate time.

For abstracts submitted by October 31, the scientific organizing committee will notify submitters of their presentation type and session assignment by November 9.  After October 31, abstracts will still be accepted for posters and remarks through November 18.
